FAQ and World/Character Permissions
As my project inevitably gets more attention with time, I feel more inclined now than before to have one cohesive spot where I answer a lot of commonly asked questions and address sentiments that have been expressed over the years. While I'm by no means trying to be gatekeepy with my creation, I still ideally want Livastia to be percieved with certain values and sentiments in mind so it can be appreciated as intended.

| Am I allowed to make fanart and/or ocs for your world? | Yes, and yes! There's already a decent handful of fan characters that exist, and I have a page on the site dedicated to fanart! The main thing I ask of any ocs created is that they generally follow the same design and purpose philosophy as the main setting does. This is mainly to say, your LAI/MAI retains traits that are characteristic of the type of AI they are described as. I also ask that any LAI/MAI characters created that are inspired by my setting remain SFW, as it goes against foundational rules that I've set in place in terms of world/character mental characteristics and tendencies. Respect these rules, and you can make fan media to your heart's content! |
| What's your ultimate goal with Livastia? | This is one that I get pretty often, things like "Will you eventually be writing a book?" "Are you going to try and pitch a show/make an animated rendition?" and frankly, my answer is - I guess we'll figure that out together! Livastia started out as and always has been something that I've made just for the sake of making it. The people that inhabit Livastia just make me happy, working on the setting just makes me happy. Anything that I make for this world is created with the intent that my personal interest takes center stage, and anyone that hitches along for the ride is a welcome surprise; I'm not looking for profit or fame, I just want to share with the world something that I'm deeply passionate about and invested in. |
| What kinds of identities and sentiments to LAI/MAI tend to hold toward social relationships? | This is something that I've answered more indepth over on World Anvil, but I feel as though it has its place here since it is something I still get asked about fairly often, to my vexation. For this question, I'm going to mainly focus on A-Class units, since they're the most asked about.
Just like humans, MAI and LAI are capable of partaking in platonic, familial, and romantic relationships! Since they take after us so closely, they of course have a strong social mindset and inclination to form close bonds with their peers and families. What they concretely lack, however, is any form of sexual attraction. In-world, CoreAegis never saw it as necessary to program any such desires into their units since, well, it wasn't critical, or could even be counterproductive to their intended functions. | With the current internet climate around AI and art theft, aren't you concerned about your work being so publicly available? | Well, y'know what they say about when you love something... you let it go! The love that I have for my project and my desire to see it reach people that resonate with it is stronger than any fear I have for some crusty techbros getting their hands on it. In the current state of things, protecting your art from scraping is impossible, anyhow - I don't want to grey my hair over something that's already an open Pandora's box. Ultimately, no one online can take away from me that fact that my project is mine and mine alone. If anyone tries to make Livastia or its characters something that it's not, it's not a failure of kindness or naivety on my end, but a personal and intentional failure to understand the project on their end. |
